First Day of School 2011

I definitely have mixed feelings about school starting.  Today was the first day, Monday, August 22, 2011.  Natalee is in 5th grade this year.  This is possibly her last year of elementary school.  It would be for sure but the school district is thinking of moving the 6th grade back to the elementary level and then having all 7th and 8th graders at one middle school.  If that starts next year then we will be thankful to keep her at the elementary level one more year.  It's sad to send them away for such a large part of the day, but I am looking forward to a little less arguing and bickering at home.  The older three girls are the main culprits of this and I think a little less time together is bound to improve this problem.  So in that way school starting again is a very good thing.  Watching Nathan and Kelsey play together right now is very adorable too.  Those two are bound to bond a little more with all their alone time together.  Nathan is getting just to the right age for park day too so that's going to be a lot of fun for him.  We are also thinking of doing Joy School this year for Kelsey.  All in all I think it's going to be a very fun and exciting school year for everyone.

Mackenzie is in first grade this year.  She looks so tiny in this picture next to the door of her classroom.  But she's such a big girl.  She just lost her second front tooth 2 days ago.  Her teacher this year is Mrs. Gum.  None of my kids have had her yet because she's fairly new to Inyokern school.  But she is a wonderful teacher and I'm sure Mackenzie is going to have a wonderful year.

Haylee is starting third grade this year and her teacher is Mrs. Worley.  Natalee also had Mrs. Worley for third grade so we are sure Haylee is going to have a wonderful experience with her as well.  Haylee has lots of wonderful friends and they are all in her class this year.  She's going to have a very fun year!

I can't believe Natalee is in 5th grade!  It seems like not that long ago that she was starting her first day of kindergarten.  This year her teacher is Mrs. Jorgenson.  She is the teacher in charge of bird club, which Natalee really enjoys.  We are hoping and praying for a good year for Natalee too.  We had a little trouble last year with some bullies and are hoping not to face that issue again this year.
