Green (or Brown?) Christmas in AZ

These first few pictures are of the kids at our ward Christmas dinner.  Santa is really Bishop Nolan Paulsen.  (Kelsey refused to go near him.)

My good friend Rachel Huber thought it would be funny if we put our ginormous van on our Christmas card and I thought it was a great idea.  We took this picture although it didn't end up being our Christmas card after all.

I made Daren take close to a million pictures of the two of us trying to get one that both of us liked for the Christmas card.  At one point Haylee jumped in for a picture with her daddy.

Daren playing Big Game Hunter with Mackenzie.

The AR (Accelerated Reading) awards assembly was the last day of school.  Mackenzie hasn't started AR yet but both Natalee and Haylee got awards.  Haylee just wouldn't look at the camera for me!

Haylee still not looking.

Haylee and Natalee ended up next to each other for one award.  Natalee looked!

Nate sitting up all by his big boy self!

These next pictures are of our Christmas in AZ with Matt and Ami:
Haylee and Mackenzie packed their swimsuits and had to get in the pool.  They didn't stay too long and Kelsey was furious that I hadn't packed her swimsuit.  Mackenzie was kind enough to loan hers to Kelsey (which is why this swimsuit is so huge on her) and Kelsey stayed in for quite a long time.

Matt grilled some yummy ribs for Christmas Eve dinner.  AZ was definitely warmer than Ridgecrest!

Each of the girls got a Webkinz from Santa.  Natalee named her new chihuahua "Polly"

Mackenzie named her cat "Orangey"

Nate's first Christmas!!  He liked his new toys.

Kelsey named her puppy "Boy Dog."  I asked her if it was a girl dog or a boy dog and she said, boy dog.  Then I asked her what it's name was and she said, Boy Dog.  And she kept calling it boy dog from then on.  Unfortunately we haven't seen Boy Dog since our return to Ridgecrest.  We still hope to find it and if not, I hope to find another at Wal-Mart.

What do I do with this?

Eat it of course!

Natalee drew Kelsey's name for the family gift exchange.  She went to walmart.com and picked out this Wonder Pets book for Kelsey, asked me to order it, and paid me back the money.  Kelsey loved it!

Mackenzie waited so long for her own DS and she finally got it!

Haylee finally got her guitar!

Haylee picked out a beautiful horse poster for Natalee.
Mackenzie got "Barbie Thumbelina" toys from Kelsey

Haylee got Breyer horses from Nate.

I get a kick out of guys playing Haylee's pink guitar.  Matt was the first but not the last.

Matt and Ami got Nathan this adorable outfit.

I was so excited when I found these Wonder Pets toys for Kelsey.

Natalee was so excited to get her own camera.

Nate in his new outfit.

Nice manly boy toys! (Notice how definted his "Superman curl" is in this picture.)

Kelsey is also very into "The Land Before Time" right now and we were lucky to find this dinosaur set that looks just like it could be the characters from that movie.  (Except no Sharp Tooth which she was fine with.)

I found these swimsuit covers on sale so I thought I'd just wrap them.  Kelsey put hers on right away but didn't have a shirt underneath.  I told her to go put a shirt on under it and this is what she came out with.  She is very grown up lately about dressing herself.

Matt and Ami's cat Pooey finally started to warm up to us a little.  At least enough to explore the bags in our room.

Haylee brought her guitar outside and was playing for the kids who were riding bikes.  It was so adorable I grabbed the camera.

Beautiful Mackenzie

Beautiful Kelsey

Nathan showing off his brand new tooth.

Kelsey found a tricycle that she could peddle on.  She was so excited because it was her first time peddling.  We have a couple that are just a little too big for her.  (I don't have a picture of Natalee-she was outside while I was taking pictures of Haylee but disappeared inside before I was done.)
We had a wonderful Christmas with both sides of our family. After spending Christmas morning with Matt and Ami, we went back to Gilbert and enjoyed Christmas dinner and more present-opening with the Hardy family.
